I use 3 computers with 7 windows open on each and refreshing 1/2 the windows. I try to keep this up this updated but some of it may be out of date.

I think the Sites in yellow are the best chances, changes daily:

The Publix portal
Publix publix.com/covid-vaccine/florida
Hard to get in but stay online. Most people want the populous counties to the south. At the end counties in the panhandle may open if you are willing to make the long drive.

Winn Dixie recently opened up

Pinellas, Orange, Pasco https://www.patientportalfl.com/s/

Sign up for a Patient Portal account before you try to sign in for the vaccine. It will remember you when you log in the next time. The hard part is figuring out when the Counties go live.

Check these sites to see when their sign up will take place:

Orange orange.floridahealth.gov/

Pinellas pinellas.floridahealth.gov

covid19.pinellascounty.org/vaccines

Pasco pasco.floridahealth.gov

Pasco has been doing it at 2pm on Sundays.

You can call any of the phone numbers below. Most are just automated but once in awhile you will find a real human who can make an appointment.

DOD

The Department of Defense (DoD), in collaboration with the Department of Health and Human Services, has launched a program to provide COVID-19 vaccines to service members, retirees, and their families. Under this program, the DoD will distribute the vaccines through a series of phases.

Macdill has vaccines but they are doing people who are going to deploy, active service members and dependents first, retirees later.

Who is getting the vaccine first?

The first supply of the vaccine is limited. The first vaccines will be given in phases. The first phases will be for:

  • Individuals providing direct medical care
  • Individuals maintaining essential installation functions

  • Deploying forces

  • Individuals at the highest risk for developing severe illness from COVID-19

  • Adults age 75 and older, then 65+

Vaccines will be offered to other TRICARE beneficiaries as more vaccines are available and after priority individuals have been vaccinated. Learn more about the first phases of DoD COVID-19 vaccine distributionMacDill AFB, senior national staff and U.S. Special Operations Command personnel follow medical personnel and first-responders, according to the medical group’s Facebook post. Next will be personnel preparing to deploy outside the U.S., including authorized civilian and contract employees, as well as Department of Defense beneficiaries over 75, before moving on to other groups. Those with questions about vaccines can call 813-827-1918 or send an email to usaf.macdill.6-mdg.mbx.immunizations1@mail.mil.

How Long Until Health Care and 65+ Americans Are Vaccinated?

My quick and dirty calculations. If you see any mistakes let me know - it is certainly possible.

It took us about a month to get 7% of the US population inoculated with their first jab.  The total USA population of Health Care Workers and 65+ people is about 27% of our total population so it follows that it will likely take another 3 months or so to get all of us vaccinated.

And of course much longer to protect the entire country and the world. Of course our vaccine production and administration will no doubt improve and become substantially faster over time.

We are all hoping that the virus does not mutate and become more deadly and/or resistant to the vaccine.

In the meantime keep doing what we did in 1918 and what we should be doing now.

Maintain social distance

Avoid Groups

Wear good Masks

Wash carefully

Keep your friends and social contacts

Exercise, eat healthy and avoid depression

Keep Sending Emails!
